Here are three events celebrating Holy Easter. The expression that Via Crucis<\/a> provides in our Catholic devotional rites, retracting Jesus ' painful journey to the crucifixion<\/p>\n

Easter celebrations in Tuscany : Prato<\/h3>\n

Prato and the exposition of the Sacred Girdle<\/a>. On the afternoon of easter Sunday, Prato celebrates its most cherisched treasures. From the splendid setting of Piazza Duomo, you can witness the exposition of the relic.History tells us that in this traditional rite,\u00a0 the Sacred Girdle was donated by the Virgin Mary to Saint Thomas. Here the Bishop displays the Girdle from the outside pulpit. It is a thin strip of very fine wool, perhaps from green goat's wool, brocaded in gold.<\/p>\n

We see it five times a year : Christmas, Easter, May 1st, August 15th and September 8th. This last one follows a historic procession. It is said that it was brought from the Holy Land by a certain Michele in 1141. Today it is kept in the Chapel of the Sacred Girdle, located in the Prato Cathedral and enriched with frescoes by Agnolo Gaddo.<\/p>\n

Easter Celebrations in Tuscany : Pietrasanta<\/h3>\n

The Stations of the Cross take place on God Friday (April 3rd, 2026) in the historic center of Little Athens, where the procession winds through the streets of the historic center. The atmosphere is made even more captivating by the torches illuminating the streets of Pietrasanta<\/a><\/p>\n

Easter Celebrations in Tuscany : Pistoia<\/h4>\n

The Station of the Cross in Pistoia have been celebrated by the people of Pistoia with ancient roots since 1629.<\/p>\n

The most traditional, apparently at least a century old, takes place at the Giaccherino Convent in the hamlet of Spazzavento. We have other celebrations at the cemetery called the Stations of the Cross of Mercy with prayer and consolation.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 Stations of the Cross are combined with art in the in the Church of the Madonna del Carmine in Pistoia.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
